Monitoring of Benthic Macroinvertebrates in the Spring Creek Watershed

Nick Schipanski, Water Resources Coordinator at ClearWater Conservancy, discusses the Water Resources Monitoring Project (WRMP) survey of macroinvertebrates conducted in 2012 and discusses monitoring of benthic macroinvertebrates as indicators of ecological health in watersheds. He will also update the WRMP’s ongoing long-term monitoring program in the Spring Creek Watershed.

Stream Restoration in the Spring Creek Watershed

Bob Vierck, Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited discusses recent stream restoration projects undertaken in the Spring Creek Watershed. Bob is Vice President of the Spring Creek Chapter TU and is a State College native who returned after 26 years in Honolulu, Hawaii. There is no trout fishing in Hawaii, so when he returned to State College, he was an enthusiastic beginner. Bob is the second Robert Vierck to serve with the Spring Creek Chapter of TU as his father was a founding member.
